Chris approaches his work with unwavering care, compassion, and diligence. Having worked in the counseling field for almost a decade, he has helped countless individuals find healing from addiction, trauma, depression/anxiety, infidelity, and compulsive and problematic sexual behaviors. Chris whole-heartedly believes in the power of therapy as a catalyst for change and transformation in your life.

As a specialist, Chris has extensive experience helping individuals recover from problematic sexual behaviors (sometimes called sex or porn addiction). His clients often describe their sexual behaviors as out of control and causing havoc in their life. Many have found it difficult to manage their sexual thoughts or urges or struggle with fidelity in their relationship. Some clients struggle with past traumas or have difficulty connecting emotionally with their partner, leading them down a path of secrecy and shame. As a result, many of his clients feel overwhelmed by feelings of hopelessness, depression, anxiety, self-loathing, and may be afraid of losing their family.

Chris understands the pain you are in and the depth of your suffering. He will provide a safe and supportive space for you to break free from your destructive cycle. You don’t have to live your life like this, let Chris show you a better way. He can help you gain control over your behaviors and explore the root cause. He will give you the tools you need to be free from shame, manage anxiety and stress, connect with others, heal from past wounds, and repair the trust in your relationship. Working together, he will help you to create a path towards recovery by gaining valuable insights into underlying patterns and developing healthy coping mechanisms to manage your emotions safely.

Chris is also passionate about treating trauma, grief, and supporting clients through painful life circumstances. He understands how past experiences can profoundly impact how you feel about yourself and your ability to connect with others. He is dedicated to helping you process those experiences and move forward with strength. You and he will work together to build resilience and rediscover your sense of peace and empowerment.

One of the key factors in his success with clients, is that he believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to helping people change and grow. He offers multiple evidenced based therapies for effective and lasting change including Person Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

When treating problematic sexual behavior, Chris draws from other therapy models including the Out of Control Sexual Behavior model and the Integrated Problematic Sexual Behaviors model. Chris is also familiar with 12-step programs and is able to support individuals who align with that path. For those who wish to address their sexual behaviors problems through the lens of faith using spiritual disciplines and practices, Chris has experience in incorporating faith-based methods in helping clients to overcome unwanted sexual behaviors.

About Chris

Chris is passionate about the work he does with his clients day in and day out. He truly feels that being a therapist is what he is supposed to be doing in life, and takes pride in his job both in and out of the office. He is constantly learning from, and is impacted by each client that he works with, and considers it a true honor to be a therapist to others.

Outside of counseling, Chris enjoys learning to surf (yes, even in the cold Washington coast waters!) and learning to play the ukulele. As a true Seattleite, he enjoy craft coffee, exploring the beautiful PNW environment, and being active outside.
